Solution Sales Engineer

Location: Cambridge, UK

Job Description:

Solution Sales Engineer

This position provides technical support to sales representatives in the office and in the field.

The role requires excellent technical and communication skills, prior technical experience and customer problem resolution, and the ability to work well in a team setting. A comprehensive understanding of computer terminology is required.

Principle Duties:

Works closely with nCipher's sales representatives as a technical consultant of nCipher's technologies during sales calls and sales visits
Stage product demonstration environments, including the development of access, user interface, and workflow policies
Answers technical questions and conducts demonstrations of product expressions and new features to prospects and to various groups within existing customer accounts
Provides technical descriptions and content for proposals in response to RFPs & RFQs
Provides product installation problem resolution and support. Also, provides full technical training of nCipher's product expressions
Gathers ongoing prospect/customer feedback and related information.

Job Requirements:

Detailed working knowledge of LDAP directories, Microsoft Windows 2003, Unix, Linux, SQL, webservers, mail systems, etc.
Programming skills in Java, XML etc.
Detailed knowledge and working understanding of directory sites, multi master, AD domains and child domains, SSO, etc.
General understanding of HR systems, Financial reporting systems, and ERP systems, workflow systems, queuing, application rights, security technologies such as smart cards, kerberos, USB tokens, SSO, and digital certificates
Strong understanding of audit and reporting needs.

Experience/education:

Requires a bachelor's degree in a computer related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Analysis, etc.) or related discipline. Additional business related education is a plus
Candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in the computer field working with applications and computer networks. Candidate must also have at least one year of software development in a software product company
Applicant must have good communicative skills both verbally and in written form and the ability to effectively communicate ideas and properly describe problems and solutions. Critical thinking, reasoning, and problem solving ability is an essential part of this position. Must be a self-starter
