nCipher plc (LSE:NCH), a global leader in protecting critical enterprise data, announces the appointment of Ira Zalesin as an Executive Director of nCipher plc, the appointment of George Ralph as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary, and further appointments on an operational level.

Ira (52) takes the position of Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operating Officer North America and brings to nCipher more than 25 years’ business experience within both US and UK public and private companies. He was Chief Executive Officer at UDEX Holdings until 2006, a global leader in the delivery of hosted product data quality solutions. Previously he was Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Strategic Advisor to the Board at Kewill Systems plc. Since leaving UDEX he has been an advisor to the boards of several technology companies on their expansion strategies and business development, particularly in North America.

George Ralph is appointed Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary, having been appointed to those roles in a temporary capacity in May 2007. George, who is an experienced Company Secretary and Finance Director, was most recently Finance Director for the European businesses of Abacus Group plc and prior to that was Company Secretary and Group Financial Controller of Deltron Electronics plc before their acquisition by Abacus Group plc.

Aidan Hegarty is appointed Vice President Operations of the company’s newly acquired storage security product lines. Aidan has a strong technical background and brings more than 25 years’ experience of software enterprises. He began his career at Plessey Telecommunications and has since held a number of executive positions at American Can UK, Kewill Systems plc and UDEX.

Richard Moulds, previously Vice President Marketing at nCipher, now takes the position of Executive Vice President Product Strategy and is responsible for defining the company’s product and service solutions.
