Attackers look at all aspects of a system to determine how to subvert it. If they can’t get at the core secrets they will start working on the critical processes to circumvent the need for the secrets. To protect against these sorts of attacks nCipher created CodeSafe. CodeSafe is an area inside the nCipher hardware module where security critical code can be run in a fully protected environment.

CodeSafe contains a detailed description of how to implement and rollout embedded security processes with nCipher’s cryptographic hardware. These processes can be developed with standard development tools and do not require learning all new proprietary technology. In addition, nCipher offers Development Consulting services to assist with the design and implementation process.
